On 12 December, the Zagreb Hypo Center hosted the ceremony for presentation of the Zagreb Stock Exchange Awards for 2012. One of the award winners was Hrvatski Telekom.
Continuing the tradition of presenting awards to members of the stock exchange as well as issuers, the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) introduced a new award concept, aiming to boost awareness of the capital market and its active participants in the financial and general public. The Award Committee of the Zagreb Stock Exchange established a total of seven categories, taking into account objective and statistical criteria, but also the overall contribution to education and development of the national capital market:
1. Share with Highest Turnover,
2. Share with Biggest Price Increase,
3. Share with Biggest Turnover Increase,
4. Member of the Year,
5. Award of the ZSE Academy for Outstanding Contribution to Education on the Capital Market,
6. Award for Outstanding Contribution to Capital Market Development,
7. Share of the Year – Public Choice Award.
In her introductory speech, Ivana Gažić, President of the ZSE Management Board, pointed out that throughout the last couple of years, the financial industry has been undergoing a period of substantial change. But even in such challenging circumstances there were companies that distinguished themselves by successful adaptation to the permanently changing environment, which was eventually recognized by the investment community which supported their business path by investing in their shares.
In the Share with Highest Turnover category, the Award was accepted on behalf of Hrvatski Telekom by Ms Erika Kašpar, Operating Director of the Corporate Communications and Shareholder Relations Sector who said: "The Share with Highest Turnover Award does not come as a surprise to us, but this does by no means decrease our satisfaction, pride and gratitude for the award.“
